How I stage trash bags at the can
A printed bracket on the cabinet door holds the liner roll beside the can, so the next bag is always where the last one came out.
SHOT · HERO · ENVIRONMENTALCabinet door open, bracket mounted inside, roll seated, can beside it. Shot low, from the can's height.
The questionPick a consumable — trash bags, batteries, dish soap. When the current one dies, walk me through the next sixty seconds.
Bag comes out, goes to the garage. Back at the can the door's already open, the roll is right there on the door, tear one, shake it, in. Eight seconds, maybe. Before, it was a walk to the drawer across the kitchen, and half the time nobody made the walk, so the can just sat there empty until the next person noticed.
It used to be
SHOT · RECONSTRUCTIONLiner box in the drawer across the kitchen, drawer open
Liners in a drawer, eight feet away. The can has a pocket for loose bags; they tangled. So the box lived in a drawer, and the drawer was the problem.
Now
SHOT · DETAILRoll on the bracket, tail hanging, hand reaching
A bracket on the door. Modeled in an evening, printed in two hours, mounted with two Command strips. The roll feeds down. One hand tears a liner at the perforation.
The last straw
Three mornings in a row, coming down to a bare can.
What it took
One evening in CAD, 2 h 10 m on the printer. Two strips.
What didn't stick
The retail box on a hook. Tore in a month; looked like a box on a hook.
The restock signal
Your hand comes back empty. That's the only one.
SHOT · SPECIMENBracket alone, top-down, white sweep. Three orientations in one frame.
SHOT · CLOSEDCabinet door closed. Nothing visible.
SHOT · ACTIONOne hand tearing at the perforation, other hand holding a full bag

What I ruled out
- The can's own liner pocketHolds loose liners; they tangle. And you open the can to restock the can.
- Liners under the bagThe standard trick. Works until the bag leaks once.
- A hook and the retail boxTore in a month.
